Late yesterday afternoon, we arrived at Benora Point which is to be our home base for the next week or so and were greeted with a fantastic take out eat at home dinner of chicken and chips, with Colleen & Bob, Lynette and Richard, Emma & Jacob. Thanks heaps guys.
This morning we needed to get some thongs for Dylan due to his amazing ability to leave them behind at the park in Surfers after only having them for 5 days.... apparently being a super clever kid doesn't necessarily extend to remembering any part of your clothing that may get taken off during Ninja Warrior training.
We also suddenly realised that we were in a new location and we hadn't emptied our credit card at the local Woolies, so we managed to get that task done during the same outing.
We had seen that there was some sculptures along the beach front so we teamed up with Lyn & family, then headed off to check them out.
We certainly learnt that there is some very individual thoughts on what is classed as art vs what is somebody's boredom in their shed being put out for everyone to stare at and say "What is that?".
Overall though, was a great way to pass some time and see some great coastline.
Some of the sculptures were pretty amazing. The horse below was made out of thousands of pieces of steel rod welded at the points. The wolf was made from chicken wire that had somehow been shaped and cut ever so perfectly. The one that probably tickled my fancy the most, was the one of the Neanderthal towing a tablet behind him. This one was aptly titled "Device Tethering" and was a crack at people not being able to put their phones / tablets down.
Tracy cooked up a storm for tea tonight - Roast lamb and roast spiced pork with all the vegies and trimmings. It was our turn to treat our wonderful hosts, and it gave me a chance to eat way more than I actually needed.... yum.
