Jan Juc, Bells Beach, Anglesea, Airies Inlet, Lorne and Apollo Bay
Yesterday we went to a couple of close locations including the famous Bells Beach. They were both pretty spectacular coast lines, but it was getting closer to the forecast 29 degrees, so went back, had lunch, and extended our stay with the front office.
Tracy went downtown shortly after to say hello to the local Woolworths, while i sat by the pool ( and sometimes in it) with the kids.
Today's weather was a whole lot different.... forecast to be 17 degrees and windy. For once the weather people were right.... it was cold and windy enough to blow a large dog off a chain. That didn't stop us from navigating the coast however....and wow was it different with the water all chopped up. They have some pretty amazing playgrounds along the coast that the kids wouldn't let us drive past, but I got my revenge by complementing those stops with exciting stuff like walking up to lighthouses and staring out at coast lines that look remarkably similar to the last 6 we stopped at.
At one of the stops whereIi pulled over to let the queue of cars go past, a brown snake decided to cross the road right in front of us and that certainly got the kids excited, while Tracy made sure all the doors and windows were shut really really proper!
So much of this coast could be the subject of some amazing photo shoots, but the few i have got are well and truly good enough for me.
Moving across the peninsular tomorrow, to explore the Apostles and surrounding views.
