Hervey Bay - wind down day

2nd September 2014

Today was a real caravan holiday day - relaxed, no rush for anything and just doing "stuff". Tracy went for her usual morning walk, being the good girl she is at keeping up the exercise. I have contemplated going for a run / walk a few times now, but the thought has tired me out so I cooked up bacon and eggs for breakfast instead - at least I am giving my arteries a workout. This time Tyler took his scooter and went with Tracy and he seemed to enjoy that.
I had promised to take the boys fishing again today as it was our last day here at Hervey, so despite the 35 knot winds, we set off like true fishermen do. Meanwhile, Tracy took Kayla for a bit of girly time shopping and gave the credit card a workout ( I am taking that as my workout...). The fishing was about as successful as you can imagine with 2 kids that wind their line in before it hits the water to check their bait, and winds blowing everything on the jetty into the water. We ended up with a small handful of baby somethings that excited the kids, but even they stopped biting after a while. It wasn't long after that the kids got totally bored and started doing somersaults along the jetty themselves, so we packed it in and headed back for lunch.
Much lighter winds 3 blocks inland allowed the kids to demonstrate their ability to ignore all rules associated to swimming pools in van parks, and proudly show off their bombing ability. It was perfect weather sitting on the side watching, but it only took an hour for the chill to get too much for them as well so we (Tracy and I anyway,) went back to the van to do nothing, and have a drink, and do nothing, and have a drink.
Off to Noosa tomorrow, via Gympie to see some Rellies for an hour or so
