2nd October
Today I got the urge...so we all got in the car and took off North to Woolgoolga. It was another fantastic surf beach, and I was looking forward to getting my rod out. The kids set to building a sand castle and mermaid on the foreshore, while I tried as best as I could to get my pole out past the breakers.... Once again, I wished I had a bigger rod, but I was determined to do the best job with what I had. And surprisingly enough, success came my way - but only once. I got myself a nice whiting after about 20 minutes, but I was being pounded too hard, so we decided to move down the road a bit where it was more sheltered and there was a playground to keep the kids occupied. I had an attempt fishing off the rocks, and was able to snare some small fish, but nothing of substance that I was really after.
The rest of the afternoon was spent back at the van park, with the kids off on the playground, giving us some free time to sit and relax.
