Pambula Beach and Eden

26th October 2014

We had been recommended to look at Eden by a few people whilst others suggested it was "just another town". We were going regardless, so Tracy did another wonderful job of putting lunch items together in a cold bag, whilst i sat in the car with the kids waiting for her to finish (insert smile here). She lovingly asked me to pack everything in the car whilst she cleaned up, then we set off. 20 minutes later, I suddenly realised that the food was still sitting in the cool bag back at the caravan.... Doh! Eventually with an extra 50km on the car, we were off again in search of whatever we could find to interest us.
We found a great little bay called Pambula Beach where we stopped for lunch and a walk along the beach with a bit of rock climbing.
Next stop was Eden. As it turns out, this place has an amazing history surrounding Killer Whales. The bay is also frequented by Humpback whales at this time of the year, so we joined half a dozen other tourists staring out at the water and seeing nothing but water.
Eden has a great little Killer Whale Museum that was super informative and interesting facts about how the Killer Whales actually integrated with the Whalers, so that both man and whale got what they wanted - except for the poor target whale....
The kids had a couple of stops at some Ninja Warrior battlefields, then we set off back to camp for a well deserved drink.
